Basildon is the largest town in the borough of Basildon, within the county of Essex, England. It had a recorded population of 107,123. In 1931, the town had a population of 1,159. It lies 26 miles east of Central London, 11 miles south of the city of Chelmsford and 10 miles west of the city of Southend-on-Sea
Basildon has lots of parks and open spaces like Gloucester Park, Lake Meadows, Wat Tyler Country Park, Wickford memorial park, Basildon has it’s share of quiet places to walk the dog, take the kids or escape for a lunch break.
Love it or hate it, the much-parodied Basildon sign has become a firm fixture of the town’s character.
