Flexible working with overtime

Up to £45,000 per annum (depending on experience)

One to One Personnel is proud to be working with our client who offers professional surveying services across the UK and Europe. Due to continued growth they are seeking a Utility Surveyor to join their team based in Rayleigh.

The ideal candidate would have:

  • A minimum of 4-5 years’ experience of producing detailed underground utility surveys
  • Able to demonstrate experience in the use of EML and GPR technology to produce detailed utility mapping surveys
  • Involves travel within UK and Europe
  • A minimum of 3 years solid UK based work experience
  • A full UK driving licence

Role

  • Carry out site surveys as required by the work instruction
  • Undertake thorough, investigative utility surveys and conduct paperwork in accordance with company procedures
  • Liaising with other site surveyors, contractors, suppliers, clients
  • Create Utility Survey Reports
  • Carry out appropriate quality control checks before drawings issued to customer
  • Mentor and train less experienced surveyors
  • Gathering data to produce mapping information of underground and overground supply services
  • Complete core on site detecting and mapping activities required for underground utility surveys including Ground Penetrating Radar (high and low frequency), GPR in Mark-out Mode, EML methods, drainage surveys
  • Leading and coordinating field teams on site
  • Overseeing technical aspects of projects to ensure quality delivery
  • Ability to undertake PAS128 Surveys
  • Must be self-motivated, have the ability to follow instructions and to work on their own initiative

Skills & Attributes

  • Previous experience working as a Utility Surveyor, ideally with supervisory experience
  • Advanced skills in the use of Electromagnetic and Ground Penetrating Radar equipment
  • Good knowledge and understanding of utility provider drawings
  • Excellent knowledge and experience of underground utility mapping and GPR
  • Knowledge of Topographical Surveying equipment beneficial but not essential
  • Experience working across a wide variety of environments and on complex surveys
  • A full UK driving licence
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Experience of carrying out training of other staff
  • Ability to work away from home occasionally
  • Previous experience in post-processing GPR data is desirable
  • NVQ Level 3 or 5 qualification is beneficial but not essential
  • CSCS qualification is beneficial but not essential
