Production Dispatch Assistant Supervisor
We are excited to be able to offer an excellent opportunity on behalf of our client to join their busy team in Basildon as a Production Dispatch Supervisor.
The role:
- Using the customers ERP system to close works orders and to manage stock levels
- Produce, maintain, review, evaluate and sign-off production documentation and ensure compliance with requirements and internal standards.
- Ensure that staff training, and development is fulfilled, and monitor staff progress through maintenance of training records including training matrices.
- Be actively involved in identifying process improvements and optimising usage to maximise output.
- Introduce/assist with new business requirements and projects, systems and equipment
- Maintain knowledge of GMPs and associated regulatory considerations in a commercial packaging environment.
- Investigate operational problems affecting production, product quality and process quality and subsequently recommend and deliver solutions.
- Actively work within the Quality System managing Root Cause Analysis meetings, CAPAs, deviations, and change controls.
- Ensure the work area and machinery is safe to use and free from hazards.
- Keep the Production Manager informed of breakdown and downtime within the line.
- Manage and prioritise the active and variable workload to ensure efficient execution of the production plan.
- Complete all works to high standards of quality whilst working within guidelines.
- Maintain and use documentation for all aspects of the job as expected
- Ensure Health & Safety objectives are met.
- Play a key mentoring role in the development of new personnel to assist their learning and development
- Any other ad-hoc duties that maybe required by your Management Team.
Key requirements:
- Develop a full understanding of procedures and become self-sufficient in its usage.
- Lead both external and internal Audits and ensure areas are always audit ready.
- Must promote and focus the production teams drive to meet company vision.
- Become a champion for data integrity within all operations areas.
- Demonstrate and promote the core values of the business in all day-to-day activities.
- Be accountable for ensuring all production staff are trained fully and training remains up to date and meets any review periods.
- Oversee and perform in-process checks to ensure that machines work optimally during the production phases.
- Demonstrate effective time management and help manage poor time keeping.
- Oversee and assist maintaining clean machinery and production areas during “clean downs”
- Lead the control start up and shut down duties of the machinery and production environment.
- Must observe machinery to ensure conformance to quality and set standards.
- Must report any problems or deviations in packaging procedures on an immediate basis to ensure that incorrect packaging does not take place.
- Oversee the preparation of all associated packaging documentation in accordance to relevant SOPs.
- Oversee and ensure all packaged products are boxed and labelled correctly.
- Oversee and assist complete batch reconciliation is accurately done at the end of production and follow the correct batch recording procedures.
- To ensure tasks set by the Production Manager are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
- To always follow procedures to ensure that work is completed correctly first time, every time and safely.
- Adhere to the correct PPE requirements and lead by example.
- Promote right first time and be a key advocate in ensuring the targets are met.
- Assist and help the operations team improve, sharing improvement idea and participating in improvement projects when required.
- Provide cover for the production manager and Primary production supervisor when they are on holiday or sick.
**PLEASE NOTE: Own transport and a driving licence would be desirable due to location**
Job Type: Full Time Permanent Position
Location: Basildon, Essex
Salary: £28,000 - £32,000 PA depending on experience
Hours: Monday to Friday - 8:00am - 16:30 (40 Hours Per Week)
